Q: I just reformatted my lap top, and microsoft word says I need a key to install it. What key does it need? Microsoft word came on my computer, so does it want the serial on the back of my computer? Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
A: Hopefully, the WORD cd was included in the set of CDs that came with your computer. It will have the activation number you need, it's specific to WORD. If not, you will have to deal with the vendor of your PC to try and obtain it. There is a free alternative at www.openoffice.org, written by the same people that developed JAVA.
