Q: Hi, I'm looking for a cheap video graphics card that can support aero. and also good in performance. now I have to decide which manufacturer should i choose, and these 2 big manufacturers are my choices: nVIDIA and ATI ? which is better? and can you give me a card whit the brand you choose that meets my needs? tnks!!!
A: they are both just designers of graphics chipsets. The main distinction between them at the moment is CUDA and Physx on the nvidia cards, but its debatable the value of this capacity and it wont affect either way your aero performance You can probably pick up an 8600gt for around $50 - this will do aero. In fact, most of the decent budget cards at the moment are Nvidia, and as the price goes up, the ATI cards are superior. To run aero you dont need a high end card. the 8600 will do it.
