Q: hello i'm new to it and was wondering how do you get a programme to autorun at start-up say like a clock prog that i like and just want it to be on the desktop.. thanks folks.. sorry. i'm using ubuntu 8.04.1 i have the x386 ver.
A: Simply add your desired program to the "autostarted applications" list. EDIT: I am using LinuxMint v.5 XFCE(Ubuntu based) at present & have remembered that "autostarted applications" was dropped from "Hardy Heron" certainly in the Beta.In this case you may actually aquire it by installing xfce4-mcs-plugins-extra through Synaptic.
