Can I upload a word document onto an internet blog?

Q: I'm doing an internet blog for college and have created a Microsoft word document I want to post on the blog. The document has text, clip art & a downloaded picture. The blog is on Wordpress. I can up load the images into the gallery, but would like to use the same font as the word document. My apoplogies, I gave thumbs down to the people who said copy and past. You can't do that because of coding used by the internet. You have to convert the file first into a suitable format for the internet. This involves more than just saving it as a webb page. As for learning httml or whatever, never had the chance.

A: You say you are using WordPress: with this program you have the choice of creating posts or pages. If you are creating a 'what I would call a proper website' then pages is the best way to go. However, I would recommend having the home page set as a post, rather than a page because then you can use tags and categories which are not possible with pages. Also for the Post when I teach this program to children who want fancy fonts, the scheme you set in WordPress changes the font/style etc in pages, but if you write in Word and save as a document in its own right then copying and pasting DOES work (not for pages). If you go through the Insert option and put the address of the file then whatever font/colours etc you have written in Word will be changed to comply with the WordPress theme. Incidentally I would suggest when writing in Word, you indent your text from the margins by .25cm left and right as it makes it look tidier when put in WordPress.
