Q: I have a computer which ive had now for a while, and it has all of my 800 songs and many pictures. Soon i will get a laptop. And i want to know is there something i can buy that can transfer my songs & pictures from my computer to my laptop?
A: Buy a thumb drive some call it flash drive... a tiny device that can be plug into a USB port... a 5GB capacity will do to transfer your 800 songs and many pictures, though it really depends on your budget, if your tight on budget, buy the smaller capacity, if you have lots of money, buy a larger capacity. It acts as a diskette/storage device...only a greater amount of disk space can be store. once you're done transferring, you can erase the files you don't need, so you can store another set of data... if you really want a larger external storage, buy an external HDD.. capacity is from 80GB and so on.... If you want to link your PC and your Laptop, you can buy a switch hub with 2 to 4 ports and a 2 set of Cat5 cables with a RJ45 connectors on both ends... or a wireless hub, if your DSL modem/router does not have enough ports or doesn't have a WiFi capability. I am pretty sure the computer shop knows about this stuffs... With this method called networking...you can share internet connection and do file sharing ... hope this helps...:-)
