Q: I'm running windows xp and recently upgraded to SP3, everything works great, I have just one user on the computer. Now I want add my kids their own user account so they will stay our of mine messing things up but any new account I add as soon as it does the first run for the new account and loads the desktop I get a Windows Explorer has to close error, I click to send report and close and the desktop reloads and it does it again and again. It does this on every new account I try to add even turning the guest account on it does this too. This laptop was given to me and came with no disks to do a repair. I have cleaned off a few viruses and the computer on the main account works great. I make all the new account administrator and I have even tried Limited account, with same results, even tried doing it in safe mode, no change. Anything else I can try? Thanks! I can't reinstall, I don't have the disk. I'm afraid if I do a system restore it will bring back the viruses I took off. I'm like you though, I wish I had stayed at the SP2.
