Q: i just bought a new laptop today. i downloaded a whole bunch of stuff.. one of the programs wasn't working (error messages), so i decided to restart my laptop. when it restarted, it went to a white screen and the My Documents window. i can go online, because i started the task manager, started new task, then went to firefox.exe... but there's no buttons or anything, just a white screen under this. i don't mind erasing everything off my computer (but would rather not.. i just put some pictures on it that i erased off the memory card..). what do i do?? did i already break my computer?
A: Try this restart your laptop and repeatedly tap F8 (like you were going into safe mode) and then when the menu pops up goto REPAIR my Computer. From there try System restore back to before you installed the program or you may be able to run the startup repair.
