I need help with Microsoft word?

Q: In the window that I am working in, the document looks like I have reached the very top of the margin and the very bottom of the margins so I was making things smaller to fit in what I thought was the printable area of the paper. But when I hit Print Preview it shows that I have TONS more room to work and that I am making things smaller for no reason. But the view I have shows everything is full. I cant change the view, I have tried web view, print view, read view, and nothing changes it. I don't have the full paper to work with in the open window, its like the margins are blocked off and gone and the only workable area is between those margins so it looks like i have a lot of bleed off although it shows up fine in the print preview. It seems like in the window I am working in its not giving me the entire paper space to work on. Help?! The zoom is at 75% and it still shows that I am going off the page with my stuff, but in print preview I have some work space left and the stuff that looks like it is going off the page and shouldnt print, prints just fine. it looks as though the first inch or two and the bottom inch or two have been chopped off, but in print preview the top and bottom are back.

A: You should be working in Print Layout view (click on View | Print Layout). If you are already in Print Layout view, then: In Word 2003 or earlier, click on Tools | Options | View tab | check the "White space between pages" box | OK. In Word 2007, click on Office Button | Word Options | Display | check the "Show white space between pages in Print Layout view" box | OK. -- garfield-n-odie Microsoft MVP 2005-2008 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com
