Q: I have just recently bought an Acer Aspire One Netbook and was wondering would AVG Internet Security work on it? It is running Linux OX and has only got 8GB memory and 512 RAM. Thanks =) Mr B - Im going for AVG because it has been recomended by Which? on an independant test. And i dont see the need to pay 30 or 40 pounds on something people are saying isn't necessary on my laptop anyway
A: Should be fine and easy. Most of the Acers I've seen use some variant of Debian like Ubuntu or Mint. Check what you have on yours. If it groans Debian, then it should be a peace of cake. Yes, you are low on RAM and HD space. Do you really need anti-virus? Linux is pretty robust. If you are going to evil sites then maybe you need AVG. But for nornal life you probably don't need it at all.
