Had a bad virus, does Windows System restore get rid of it completely?

Q: I did the system restore, and my computer returned to normal, but I'm worried about logging into my bank account, etc online. Should I be worried? I didn't do anything else besides run a spysweeper and set my machine back a few days, which appears to have totally got rid of the virus.

A: If you catch the virus prior to a Restore Point being made then in some cases it will solve the problem, but also in some cases the infection is already in the Restore Point. As you have restored and it appears to be clean, run the following: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Removes Antivirus 2008/2009/XPAntivirus and many more: http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?hhTest=1. Download, install, update and select Quick Scan. Remove all infections that it finds after scan. Spybot S&D: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html Download, install, update and Immunize, then click 'Check for problems' then when complete select all and then 'Fix Checked' For safer banking use KeyScrambler which encrypts everything that you type in including credit card numbers etc. http://www.download.com/KeyScrambler-Personal/3000-2144_4-10571274.html Works on most browsers, email clients and IM programs, and it's free.
