Q: I have an external hard drive, the on/off button is broken. I called to see how much it would be to repair it but the guy said it would be cheaper to buy a new one. Is this true? Also, how do I crack the case to get the hard drive out? Thanks in advance.
A: Considering the prices - yes, most likely. Now, i would guess you have data on that drive. There are also HDD cases - which are like external harddrives, minus the harddrive. You can CAREFULLY take apart the old one, and put the disk in the new case - problem solved - data secured.
