How do you know if you have dsl or internet in your room?

Q: How do you know if you have dsl or internet in your room? I'm getting a ps3 this christmas.

A: DSL or "Digital Subscriber Line" is a service which you pay for thru your local phone company which allows you to access the internet by plugging in a device called a "DSL modem" into any phone line in your house (or the phone line you sign up for DSL under, if there are multiple phone numbers at one house) "Internet" just refers to any service which allows you to access the world wide web (AKA "web" or "www") Generally speaking, you must pay a service provider for Internet Access. The 2 most prevalent internet service providers or ISPs are the local phone company and the local cable company. Other ISPs include Satellite providers and cell phone companies. SO, therefore to answer your question.. if you or your parents or your roommates are paying for internet service.. then you should be able to hook up your PS3 to a wireless router and access the internet that way. If you aren't paying for internet access, then it isn't available to you. SO.. you know based on if you are paying or not. Check your cable or telephone bill or call your telephone company and ask them. They'll be MORE then happy to sell it to you if you don't already pay for it.
